Dear CPS Community, 

Last night, the CDC designated Suffolk County as "Medium Risk” for COVID-19 transmission.  As a result, we will be shifting our mask mandate back to "optional" effective immediately. Our schools were notified of this change in policy this morning. 

Our schools continue to be a mask friendly environment. Students, teachers, and school personnel have the choice to wear masks or not.

We will continue to monitor the CDC Covid-19 Community Level, and inform our community of any change to the risk level in Suffolk County.  

I want to extend my gratitude to all of our students and the entire community for how everyone responded this week. Our community's willingness to adapt quickly to a temporary change in policy was incredibly commendable. Be safe and thank you to all!

Estimado Comunidad de Chelsea, 

Anoche, el CDC designó el Condado de Suffolk como "Riego Medio" de la transmisión de  COVID-19. Como resultado, cambiaremos nuestro mandato de mascarillas de nuevo a "opcional" efectivo inmediatamente. Nuestras escuelas fueron notificadas de este cambio de política esta mañana. 

Nuestras escuelas siguen siendo un ambiente amigable con las mascarillas. Estudiantes, maestros, y el personal escolar tienen la opción de usar mascarilla o no.

Seguiremos monitoreando  El Nivel Comunitario de Covid-19 de CDC, e informar nuestra comunidad  de cualquier cambio en el nivel de riesgo en el Condado de Suffolk.  

Quiero extender mi gratitud a todos nuestros estudiantes y a toda la comunidad por cómo respondieron todos esta semana.  La voluntad de nuestra comunidad de adaptarse rápidamente a un cambio temporal en la política, fue increíblemente encomiable.  ¡Estén seguros y Gracias a todos!
