Chelsea Public Schools offers a comprehensive system of "Child Find", which is a requirement of both Federal and State law. It mandates that each school district will locate, identify and evaluate, at no cost to the family, all students, ages 2.6-22, who are suspected of having a disability.

Once you have referred your child, an evaluation will be conducted to assist in determining eligibility. Eligibility for special services is based on specific criteria established by the Massachusetts State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

A parent/guardian can make a referral by calling the Special Education Department at 617-466-5036.
