MassHire
There has been a One-Stop Career Center in Downtown Boston since JVS and the City of Boston partnered in 1996 to establish The Workplace on the third floor of 75 Federal Street. In 1999, The Workplace moved a few blocks away to Chauncy Street, then a few blocks farther to Winter Street near Boston Common in 2004. In 2015, we came full circle. The Workplace combined with the state-operated downtown career center – JobNet – and returned home to the third floor of 75 Federal Street as JVS CareerSolution. Now, we have rebranded as MassHire Downtown Boston Career Center. And despite all of the changes, for more than two decades there has been one constant – our unparalleled commitment to serving the needs of job seekers and employers.

Teacher Pathway Program
The Teacher Pathway Program (TPP) is our internal pipeline program to help attract and retain members of our community to teach our students. TPP reflects the diversity of our community that we are seeking to bring into our classrooms. TPP is part of a larger, strategic effort to recruit a significant number of effective teachers who represent the diversity within our community. TPP provides participants with guidance and support in various areas which include: becoming a certified paraprofessional, pursuing a college or master’s degree in education, teacher licensure support, professional development, and career advancement opportunities.
Chelsea Public Schools (CPS) invests in higher education of TPP participants who seek to pursue various career pathways in CPS. Our TPP Program consists of 4 pathways: High School to Para, Parent to Para, Para to Teacher, and Teacher to Administrator. Being a part of a cohort offers people the necessary support in pursuing the next steps in a career in any of the 4 pathways.
