  • CHELSEA, Mass. – Congratulations to two Chelsea Public Schools (CPS) educators, Waldo Gomez from the Kelly Elementary School and Marcella Moreno from Chelsea High School, on receiving Name, Strength and Story Awards on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Chelsea School Committee meeting.

Waldo Gomez, a Caminos Spanish teacher at the Kelly School, was nominated in part due to his influence on generations of Chelsea kids. He was nominated by the Kelly School administration, referencing many reasons why he should be considered for this recognition, including his ability to build relationships with students and belief in the power of biliteracy for Chelsea kids.
