CHELSEA, Mass. -- There was a special experience for Chelsea High School students today when federal Judge Gustavo A. Gelpí spoke at CHS. Judge Gelpí addressed students during a morning assembly, and visited Law andPublic Policy classes.

A native of Puerto Rico, Gelpí was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in 2021. His career includes a multitude of distinctions including a presidential appointment to the U.S. District Court in Puerto Rico, where he served as Chief Judge for three years. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Brandeis University and Suffolk University Law School, respectively.

He spoke to students about his pathway to becoming a judge, and answered questions about his career. He touched on the importance of an education, and for students to pursue a future in whatever they are passionate in.

We thank Judge Gelpí for taking the time to visit our high school today, and the lasting impact you left on our students.
