CPS Honors Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
  • On Monday, January 16, 2023, Chelsea Public Schools students participated in community events to honor and remember Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on MLK Day. In Chelsea, students from CPS middle schools as well as the Chelsea High School Cantare performed at the Chelsea Community MLK Celebration hosted at the Clark Avenue Middle School. Students representing schools from across the district were also recognized for their work as winners of the contest that was held in our schools.

Additionally, at Boston Symphony Hall, 41 elementary school students sang at the Boston Children's Chorus 20th Annual Martin Luther King Tribute Concert. These students participate in the Chelsea chapter of the BCC, an inaugural after school program that started in Chelsea this school year. These students performed on the main stage at Boston Symphony Hall, and sang three songs in front of a crowd of 1,800 people.

The content below features videos and photos from each event. Congratulations to all of our students involved!
