Students Honored for MCAS Achievement

  • Chelsea High School students who received certificates for their high performance on the 2023 MCAS exams

    On Thursday, March 7, CHS students who achieved "Exceeding Expectations" or "Progressing" on the 2023 MCAS Math and/or ELA exams were recognized for their achievement at the Chelsea School Committee

    CHELSEA, Mass. – Thirty-two impressive Chelsea High School students were honored on Thursday night, March 7, at the Chelsea School Committee meeting for their high performance on the 2023 MCAS and MCAS-Alt Math and ELA exams. 

    These students earned recognition for scoring "Exceeds Expectations" or "Progressing" on the 2023 MCAS and MCAS-Alt in English Language Arts or Math. The students honored are currently in either ninth or 11th grade at CHS. They achieved these scores last school year when they were in eighth and 10th grade, respectively.

    City Call Chambers was near capacity as family and friends watched the students receive their certificates.

    Superintendent Dr. Almi G. Abeyta introduced the ceremony and announced the names of each student who was honored. Almost all the students were in attendance in City Hall Chambers, alongside family and friends. The students received certificates from CHS Principal Obed Morales.
