CVLA Student Leaders Give Presentation, Share Individual Stories at Chelsea School Committee Meeting (March 7, 2024)

Three Chelsea Virtual Learning Academy students shared their stories about their experience at CVLA during the Chelsea School Committee meeting on March 7, 2024
CHELSEA, Mass. -- Three current students attending Chelsea Virtual Learning Academy (CVLA) presented at the regular meeting of the Chelsea School Committee on Thursday, March 7, 2024. The three students shared their stories and discussed how attending CVLA has positively impacted their educational journeys at Chelsea Public Schools. Below you will find information about each individual as well as video of each student's presentation at the meeting.
CVLA Student Leader: Christopher G.L.
Christopher joined CVLA in 2021 in 5th grade and is currently excelling academically in 7th grade.
"CVLA has helped me feel more confident, comfortable, and has given me new experiences."
Christopher is a Student Representative for the CVLA Advisory Board. He is an active participant in CVLA School Events including Suit Up: Business Competitions and as an advocate in school advisory activities. He has attended all CVLA field trips including to the Lyric Stage and Franklin Park Zoo.
CVLA Student Collaborator: Ezequiel Q.
Ezequiel joined CVLA in Fall 2023 to begin his 8th grade year.
"CVLA has helped me make new friends, be more involved, improve my social skills, and in the process find my favorite sport boxing."
Through CVLA's partnership with La Colaborativa, he has been able to further develop his passion for boxing and find a mentor. He is an active participant in CVLA School Events, including the La Colaborativa Youth Groups and field trips such as visiting the Hale Reservation and Lyric Stage Boston.
CVLA Student Trailblazer: Nicole R. G.
Nicole joined CVLA in 2021 in 10th grade. She is now a college-bound Senior!
"CVLA has helped me build strength, build empathy towards others, and opened many doors for me."
Nicole's experiences at CVLA include participating in CGI IT Girls Academy and the National Flight Academy in Pensacola, Fla. She is a Dual Enrollment student with Bunker Hill Community College, a CVLA Student Advocate, and an active participant in CVLA community events including multiple college visits.
