Diabetes in School
Supporting students with diabetes so they can thrive in school with the care and resources they need
Diabetes & the School Nurse
Diabetes among people under 21 has grown exponentially every year. The school nurse plays an essential role in assisting your child to manage their diabetes while in school and provides important interventions and education for students throughout the school day.
Meeting with the school nurse is pertinent to the treatment of your child's diabetes as well as facilitating communication between the family and physician. It is imperative for the student to provide the necessary medications and tools to the school nurse before the school year begins.
