Chelsea Public Schools proudly awarded a Chelsea High School diploma to Gerald V. Meola, a U.S. Army veteran who sacrificed his education to serve his country during the Vietnam War. Mr. Meola, known as "Gerry," was on track to graduate with the Chelsea High School Class of 1966 when he was drafted into military service shortly before he was set to graduate. During his time in the Army, he served on the U.S.S. Nimitz. After returning from the war, Gerry furthered his education but never stopped dreaming of holding an official high school diploma.
