Dear Chelsea Public Schools Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!

There is something special about the beginning of a new school year - - the excitement of seeing our students return, reconnecting with families, and opening our doors to all the possibilities ahead. I hope your family had a wonderful summer, and I am so excited to welcome our children back to Chelsea Public Schools.

This year, our theme is One District. Many Hearts. It reflects something I believe deeply: the success of a child is never the work of just one person. It takes all of us - - families, teachers, paraprofessionals, school leaders, counselors, nurses, custodians, secretaries, community partners, and so many others, working together with one shared purpose: our children.

As a district, we remain committed to knowing every student by name, strength, and story. We want every child who walks through our doors to know: I see you. I believe in you. You belong here. 

We have so much to be proud of in Chelsea. Our students continue to demonstrate tremendous growth and resilience. From the progress our youngest learners are making in literacy, to the expansion of Early College and career opportunities for our high school students, we are building a pathway that prepares every child for college, career, and life beyond Chelsea Public Schools.

But our work is about more than academic achievement. We want our schools to be places where children feel safe, joyful, challenged, supported, and loved. We want our families to feel welcomed as true partners in their children's education. Your voice matters, and your partnership makes us stronger.

To our returning families, thank you for continuing to trust us with your children. To the families joining Chelsea Public Schools for the first time, welcome to our CPS family. We are so glad you are here.

I have always said that I am a kindergarten teacher at heart. Even after all these years in education, the first day of school still fills me with the same excitement and hope. Every new school year gives us another opportunity to dream bigger for our children and remind them just how much they are capable of achieving.

Let's make 2026–2027 a year filled with learning, growth, joy, and possibility.
