The Chelsea Public Schools is proud to announce that our Parent Information Center has become a satellite site for the Department of Transitional Assistance. The Chelsea Public Schools Parent Information Center is now able to provide assistance with the SNAP application process as well as re-certifications of your SNAP benefits.

Massachusetts Migrant Education Program

The Massachusetts Migrant Education Program is a federally funded program of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. MMEP provides supplemental educational opportunities to the children of migratory agricultural workers, migratory fisherman and out of school youth. The program serves migrant children who reside in over 30 communities located throughout the Commonwealth. The program’s major components include regional Family Support Projects that provide migrant students with extended learning opportunities such as homework assistance and tutoring; educational programs for out of school youth; parent empowerment and family literacy services; student and family advocacy; outreach and recruitment services; and summer services that provide language development instruction and academic enrichment during a six week summer program.

Parent Change of School Assignment Forms 2019-20

The Parent Information Center will be accepting Parent Change of School Assignment forms for the 2019-2020 school year on Monday June 17 through Wednesday July 3, 2019. Requests will not be accepted after Wednesday July 3. Please note that we cannot guarantee you will receive approval of your request. Every effort will be made to reassign your child to your requested school.

El Centro de Información de Padres estará aceptando los formularios de Cambios de Asignación de Escuela para el año escolar 2019-2020 comenzando el lunes, 17 de junio hasta el miércoles, 3 de julio del 2019. No se aceptarán solicitudes después del miércoles, 3 de julio. Tenga en cuenta que no podemos garantizarle que recibirá la aprobación de su solicitud. Attendance Appeal Process
The attendance appeal process for the fourth quarter will begin on 6/5/2019 and end on 6/14/2019. Please contact Mr. Carangelo at 617-466-5043 to schedule an appointment in English.
