We are excited to announce that construction of the New Clark Avenue School has commenced! Below you will find links to the most recent project information; including images of the building design, community meeting notes and construction schedules. For on-site project schedule information and community notifications please visit the community board that is posted outside the school’s main entrance at 8 Clark Avenue.


The community’s safety is the number one priority for the City and the Project Team. In the event of an emergency please contact 911 immediately. If you have any questions or concerns during work hours please seek out Walter McLeod, Construction Superintendent, WT Rich Company who is at the Clark Ave School daily from 7 AM – 3 PM. The construction office is located on Tudor Street and is identified by WT Rich Company signage. Walter can be also contacted during the work day at 617-409-9784. After hours please contact WT Rich’s answering service at 617-467-6010 and your call will be directed appropriately.

New Clark Avenue Middle School Project

The New Clark Avenue Middle School project is located at 8 Clark Avenue, the site of the existing school. This middle school currently houses 580 students in grades 5-8. The existing school building is comprised of the original 1908 building with a 1926 addition. The existing school will be replaced by a new school that will house 670 students, grades 5-8. The construction will take place in two phases and will be completed while school is in operation and students and staff are on site. Phase 1, which includes classrooms and a cafeteria, will begin in July 2015 and continue for approximately eighteen (18) months. Phase 2, which includes the gymnasium, performance spaces, and specialty classrooms, will begin in January 2017 and continue for approximately nineteen (19) months. When complete, the new school will include 23 classrooms, specialty spaces, new gymnasium, cafeteria and library. The site work will include a new entry plaza with outdoor educational spaces.

Parent Change of School Assignment Forms 2019-20

The Parent Information Center will be accepting Parent Change of School Assignment forms for the 2019-2020 school year on Monday June 17 through Wednesday July 3, 2019. Requests will not be accepted after Wednesday July 3. Please note that we cannot guarantee you will receive approval of your request. Every effort will be made to reassign your child to your requested school.

El Centro de Información de Padres estará aceptando los formularios de Cambios de Asignación de Escuela para el año escolar 2019-2020 comenzando el lunes, 17 de junio hasta el miércoles, 3 de julio del 2019. No se aceptarán solicitudes después del miércoles, 3 de julio. Tenga en cuenta que no podemos garantizarle que recibirá la aprobación de su solicitud. Se hará todo lo posible para reasignar a su hijo/a a la escuela solicitada.

Attendance Appeal Process
The attendance appeal process for the fourth quarter will begin on 6/5/2019 and end on 6/14/2019. Please contact Mr. Carangelo at 617-466-5043 to schedule an appointment in English. Please contact Mr. Velez at 617-466-5071 to schedule an appointment in Spanish. This is in compliance with our school handbook and all guidelines will apply.
