School Mission Statement

All students attending the Edgar F. Hooks School will advance their academic and social skills to achieve grade level or above benchmarks. All students will be prepared to reach the proficient level on state mandated (MCAS) and locally developed assessments. Students will enter middle school equipped with the skills needed to maintain proficiency in core academic areas.

The Edgar F. Hooks School:

  • Develops and expands all students' literacy and mathematics skills
  • Promotes student emotional and social development
  • Encourages parental involvement to build a home school partnership for current and future academic success

The 2014 Chelsea Back-to-School Celebration was another great success for the Chelsea Public Schools. On Thursday, August 21 from 2 to 5pm, the Williams Building opened its doors to families for fun games and activities, a community organization expo, free food and drink from local restaurants, and some spectacular live performances.
