Several Law and Public Policy students from Chelsea High were assigned internships at the Chelsea Courthouse. They recently presented what they learned about being in the courthouse to CHS students.

The Interact Club learned firsthand how the city runs, as Jay Ash led the presentation for Student Government Day. Chelsea Students shadowed employees in the city including our Superintendent, the City Manager, Police Officers, City Librarians, and more.
Congratulations to Linda Alioto Robinson who was given the 2012 Latino Science & Engineering Award on Monday evening. She was presented the Jaime Escalante Award for all her hard work and success as Director of REACH, our after-school dropout prevention program for grades 7-10+.

Pre-k children currently learning about animals that live in the ocean put their senses to work when the New England Aquarium's "Tide Pools Alive" came to visit the ELC! Children learned about shellfish, sea stars, snails and crabs and got to touch and feel the creatures too! See the Gallery.

Hooks School students recently participated in Pennies for Patients. The students raised over $1100.00 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by donating change.

At a pep rally three weeks ago, the Kelly School gave out t-shirts to all 4th graders and their teachers, as well as "Beat the MCAS" wrist bands to all 3rd graders.

UPDATE! CHS is raising RAISED money to buy Carlos, a student in the Bridge Academy Program, an iPad that will have a special app that will detect his voice and aid his communication. We wanted Carlos to be able to keep the iPad once he leaves Chelsea High.

Chelsea High sent two teams to the Massachusetts Regional Science Bowl Competition. Chelsea and Lowell were the only two urban schools represented at the competition this year.
Sixty four Hooks School fourth graders participated in the February Hooks Pride Celebration. Students played board games and were treated to ice cream. Way to go!

The CHS Girls team (10-7) fought hard but fell to Latin Academy (10-10) on Tuesday. The CHS Boys team (14-6) lost a thrilling heartbreaker to Beverly on Thursday. Congratulations to both teams on a great season!
