Several months ago, Dave asked us to feature graphic novels and even donated many choice examples from his own library. Thanks for your donation, Dave! Anime Club members Vikkey Baker and Kimberley Solis created the stunning bookmarks and signage for the display.

Please come and have your students check out the variety of graphic novels in our collection:

  • Classic comic book characters, for example, Batman, X-Men, and Superman
  • Novels that have been adapted to the graphic format, for example, Moby Dick and Jane Eyre
  • Shakespeare's plays
  • Manga, or Japanese comics

"Unless we can persuade students that reading is a form of deep, sustained pleasure, they will not choose to read; and because they will not choose to read, they will not develop the skills to make them good readers." --Thomas Newkirk, Misreading Masculinity

See pictures of how students, faculty, and staff at Chelsea Public Schools stand up to prevent bullying.

To promote Governor Patrick's Black Out Bullying Day and to show our commitment to stamp out acts of bullying and intimidation, we are asking everyone in the City to wear black on Wednesday, January 25th. In addition, we are also asking everyone to wear blue, the nationally recognized anti-bullying color on Friday, January 27th.

Take a look at some of the events and activities planned around the city! Please feel free to contact any of the schools or organizations to get more info and to get involved!
